Maha Bodhi Society of India, Sarnath, Celebrates 76th Republic Day with Patriotic Fervor

Sarnath, January 26, 2025 – The Maha Bodhi Society of India, Sarnath, along with its schools, celebrated the 76th Republic Day of India with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the premises of the historic Mulagandha Kuti Vihara.

The national event commenced with the hoisting of the Indian Tricolour, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, evoking a sense of unity and pride among all present. The Boys Scouts and NCC Cadets of Mahabodhi Schools showcased their exceptional skills through impressive performances in band displays, parade drills, and a synchronized march past, earning admiration from the audience.

Ven. R. Sumiththananda Thero, the High Priest of Mulagandha Kuti Vihara and Manager of Mahabodhi Schools, warmly welcomed the guests and delivered the Welcome Address. He highlighted the importance of the Republic Day celebration as a reflection of India’s rich heritage and democratic values.

Distinguished guests and student representatives delivered inspiring speeches, emphasizing the significance of the Constitution and the responsibilities of citizens in shaping a better nation.

The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural program presented by the talented students of Mahabodhi Schools, Sarnath. The performances, which included patriotic songs, dances, and skits, beautifully showcased the diverse cultural heritage of India and left the audience captivated.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants,  and attendees for making the celebration a grand success.
